New Beginnings

After the hundreds of miles traveled, dozens of sinful treats consumed, tens of hours of sleep acquired, pieces of fireworks ignited, and don’t forget to mention the pile of school works crammed on the night before classes resumed, I finally have the time to work on an entry or two for my blog. I know it’s already 6 days delayed but since this is my first entry for the year 2012, I would like to greet all of you a happy new year! In the previous years, I’ve always hated it when people say that the year went by pretty fast. But now as I sit here and attempt to sum up my 2011 experience, I am greatly overwhelmed just by thinking of all the things that had come my way. Graduating high school and entering college was definitely the highlight of my year. By putting the things I learned in my Filipino 14 class to good use, I can say that 2011 was my liminal phase; it was a year of transition. Saying goodbye had never been really easy, most especially when it is said to something that helped define you as a person. Entering college was definitely one of the year’s biggest challenge but I managed to find a way to somehow survive in this jungle. Now, I can say that I am well adjusted to the Atenean way of life with the help of my newfound friends.

As the year begins, I promise to accept the challenges that 2012 has installed for me. But the question remains, will you be a part of this roller coaster ride with me?
