After almost three months of pants-wearing and cardigan-bringing trips to the library, I am proud to say that I survived English 12... well, two-thirds of it anyway. While some classes are just starting with their annotated bibliographies, hello there MV and Mia, my ENLIT block will already be starting with memoir writing. It feels so damn good to not worry about the problem of Philippine independent films and having to write about it in ten freaking pages.
After writing ten notecards, fifteen commentaries, first draft, and oral defense, you kinda get sick of your topic regardless of how interesting it is; I am already a master of my topic (as my English professor would say). I've had my fair share of head-scratching and temper-controlling moments wherein I was so tempted to throw away my laptop and show my professor that it was broken so that she'll give me an extension, but no, says the girl who does not cut classes; i was too good for that kind of thing. I just dealt with it, all day, everyday. The research paper haunted me even on my sleep; I've had a couple of dreams wherein I was typing my paper. How nerdy can I be to have dream't of doing school works? I don't know if it was just the research paper trying to get back at me or what, but I thought of it as something like an epiphany; writing the paper the next day seemed to be much easier compared to the night before. Thank God I'll be having a little less of this for quite sometime, or so i think. But nevertheless, I'm done with this freaking paper, b*tches!!! And I am proud of it!!! (it just feels so good to finally say that. meheheh).
I've been so preoccupied by school works lately that I've been missing out a lot with regard to my blockmates and our habitual T-TH lunch. I have this weird habit wherein I tend to eat less when I have a lot of things to do. I only get a couple of hours to endure all the work and I tend to believe that eating is a waste of time; it takes away precious time wherein I could have accomplished something off of my
When you think about, six weeks seem to be shorter than one month and two weeks, right? Or maybe its just me again. But nevertheless, from now on, i'll be counting the remaining days of my freshman year in weeks. As much as I enjoy spending mornings at Gonzaga with the block, I think I speak for everyone when I say that we're all itching to be free from the realms of the academe. White sand beaches, turquoise waters, 12-hour sleep, and food galore. Ahhhh! Sweet sweet freedom!
But until then,
