Although some of it were already on Aisis since Wednesday, i opted (or more like forced myself) to resist the urge to check my grades before the official day of release. Why you may ask? Well there are two very sensible reasons: 1) When I look at Aisis, I want all of the grades to be there and based on the Facebook posts and tweets of my blockmates, our Fil12 grades are not yet posted. Trust me, the suspense will be the death of me. 2) I wasn't ready, basically
To be honest, I was quite confident that I will get a QPI of 3.35 (or above) this semester and I've had this giddy feeling for quite some time now and this was the first time that i said it out loud, or typed it for this matter. Getting into Ateneo was one of my milestones and before I started my life here, I told myself that I will graduate from this school no matter what. I know staying in this University was hard but what more being an honor student so as long as I don't fail any subjects, I

... up until I computed for my QPI. Apparently, all my efforts were 0.07 short. After my 7th try, I decided to give up and accept the fact maybe it wasn't meant to happen. I guess I psyched myself way too much and that is the very reason why I ended up with a teary eye, a head full of regrets, and a heart filled with disappointment.
But as I was about to hit the publish post button on this post, I stumbled upon my archives and saw this badly written yet very insightful post that I wrote right before the second semester began. If look at the bottom half of the post, you will see this:
Goals for this semester:
✔ Meet new friends
✔ Recite more often
✔ Be more active in orgs
✔ GET BETTER GRADES!!!
✔ Go out more with blockmates
1) Meet new friends: check ✔Im so glad to have been closer to my ENLIT R03 and my beloved A1.
2) Recite more often: check ✔
Although it could still use some work, Im proud to say that I overcame my public speaking jitters most definitely because of English12 and Filipino12. I will forever be thankful for the daunting yet helpful activities!
3) Be more active in orgs: not really ✘
But I'll work on this come June 2012, just wait and see!
4) Get better grades: definitely a check ✔
5) Go out more with blockmates: check check check ✔✔✔
Looking at this list makes me think that perhaps, in retrospect, I should have given a little more effort in order to become a Dean's Lister, however I should not think of my second semester to be a total failure. My bestfriend says and I quote, "That [point 0.07 away from being a DL] is a sign that you should work harder next time. Don't take it negatively". I also managed to check 3 out of the 4 things on my list and I guess I should be ecstatic about it.
So tonight, I will eat and party to what was the end of a successful semester and the start of a wonderful vacation with my friends. How are you celebrating yours?
